Thanksgiving Prayer

First used October 10, 2003

Come Lord Jesus be our guest
May this food to us be blest
And may we choose the path that’s best
Before we take our heavenly rest.

Life, we know is not a jest
Nor a mere material quest
Help us then, to pass your test
While we line our earthly nest.

Forgive us Lord, when up we’ve messed
Or been a most disheartening pest.
Now here we bow at this great fest
Just as the sun sets in the west
May we partake of it with zest
With ne’er a spill upon our vest.

Amen.
